MEET MELA EMAM, OUR CEO & FOUNDER
 Mela is the founder and CEO of Mela Accounting Consultants Inc. (MACI) located in Washington DC, where she supplies staff and accounting services to small, midsize, 8(a), and non-profit organizations including receivable, payroll, banking, acquisition, merger, and forensic accounting. Mela provides financial policy, direction, and leads all financial administration, business planning, budgeting, and contract-funding executions. As a member of the senior leadership team, she works closely with motivated and engaged project managers to ensure that project cost, schedule, and performance are all on track and by performing earned value management analysis while informing leadership of any necessary course corrections. Mela manages all aspects of client and external contracting, including subcontract agreements, vendors, reporting and management of government vehicles, SBA reporting, consultants, partnerships, and teaming arrangements. Mela has expertise in customized system accounting and financial management integration in support of forecasting, transparency, and auditability. She provides financial documentation in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Mela in her 30 years of experience has transformed several small organizations into prime contractors, enabling them to provide global service to the United States Government and private companies worldwide. Mela holds a B.A. in Accounting with post graduate courses from San Jose State University. Mela is member of American Accounting Association (AAA), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Network, Certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisors, Accounting & Finance Professionals on NOVA & DC Metro Region, and Non-Profit Accounting & Grant Management (NPO).

Peter Stratos
Peter Stratos is an expert in international tax for both individuals and corporations. Peter’s primary expertise in international tax ranges across many areas including: foreign tax credit planning, residency issues, state and local issues for both international and multinational businesses, export and imports, pre-immigration planning, compensation planning, treaty positions, entity selection, organizational structuring, and withholding. Peter is a speaker for the AICPA, state CPA societies, and other organizations on various domestic and international tax issues and has also published articles and papers covering these topics. He was recognized on multiple occasions by the Virginia Society of CPAs and Virginia Business Magazine as a “Super CPA” in corporate taxation.

Hossein Haririnia
Hossein Haririnia has over 30 yrs of experience in financial management, consultation to various government contractors, non-profit organizations, & small businesses. He holds a CPA (VA & DC), Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, & Certified Cost Analyst/Estimator. Hossein specializes in government contracting; Government requirements of the minority firms such as SBA certified 8(a) programs, consulting for small business & non-profit organizations.

Hank Wang
With a B.S. in Business Information Systems from Stevenson University, Hank previously served as the administrative staff member for former U.S. Congresswoman Helen D. Bentley (MD-R) in charge of I.T. and accounting. After ten years of experience in general accounting, payroll processing, individual and small business tax accounting, and audit preparation, Hank went on to enhance his expertise in property management as well as budgeting and cost analysis. Recently, Hank decided to return to the accounting field and to pursue his CPA license to advance in the accounting career.

Fangyuan (Faye) Liao
Fangyuan graduated from Tianjin University of Commerce with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, and later received a Masters in Business Administration, Concentration in Finance from University of New Haven, Connecticut. Her expertise consists of Financial modeling, risk/quantitative analysis, data querying and mining, financial statement preparation, knowledge of U.S. GAAP/IFRS, and passed the FAR and REG certifications in the CPA Exam.

Andrew Gabor
Andrew graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor’s degree in Government & International Politics, and provides assistance to MACI by managing employee benefits and payroll for The Manhattan Strategy Group. His background consists of staff augmentation, RFP development and coordination, and recruitment for 8a, small business, and large business government contractors within the private sector. Andrew’s expertise lies in managing teaming partner staff by scheduling and outlining protocol for project managers and subcontractors in creating RFP agendas, overseeing and archiving proposal libraries within SharePoint, and responding to government contractor inquiries through interviewing candidates, drafting, and submitting past performances.
